Matt Vandart
Vee For the motherfckinwin! XT lever, Deore calipers, linear slick cable, rockman pads, Larvly!.

Endohopper
Strange to see so many recommendations specifying every individual component ( except noodles - unsung heroes ) but omitting the most critical variable - the rim(s). LROB87 , whatcha' rollin'on ? For me it's a lightly ground Onza Ronnie , Avid SD7 levers, XT arms ( really impressed , look great too ! ) Noname booster that I've been running since like the early 90's Trialtech pads with a linear slick cable , though I might consult with my LBS about some SP51 at Mr.C's recommendation . Not too sure about optimal setting of the speed dial adjuster , between squishy but powerful or sharp but less forceful I kinda leave 'em in the middle . ogre
vee's ***. these levers (well worth buying the pair if you want to use a front cable brake later too...best cable disk brake going....). i found SD7 callipers to be nice at first but prone to alot of wobble when they wear, i have a set of bikehut vee calipers there very well made, not as nice to look at but there far more sturdy than the sd7's i'm using atm. don't skimp on the cable but don't get suckered into buying silly expensive posh ones, just a new inner wire every few months (i usually replace it every 4 months) i think i'm using this cable atm, but linear slick cables are prety mint too. i really rate the tnn lgv pads, they're the best pads i've used so far... levers - £16 caliper - £16.95 cable - 2.99 / £6.99 pads - £30 that all floats in at under £70, winner
Matthew_Gibson
^^^ Listen to him! I ran pretty much that set up when I had a vee, but I ran Heatsink Coust pads and they are really good. Reds are worth a go too. Of the brake side of things its worth getting SD7 over 5 as the limit stop screw are allen keys on the 7 and the 5 are philips and are a bit cheese like!! The clarke cables will stretch loads, using one at the min and its not the bes. After ogre's advice Ill be getting a few off CRC in the morning. ogre
decathlon cables are prety good, only £2 for the inner bit, they're as stiff as other cables i've used just not as far away...
