Ali C
you should deffo look into getting a streetier bike either 24" or 26" and try brakesless too, that will put the fun back into riding

nb88
I quit trials for 4 years because I got bored of it and just got back into it a few months ago on the same bike. Have to say, im loving it now! Regret quitting but I think its made me enjoy it more. I am bored of my bike though and instead of upgrading it i'm buying an inspired fourplay 24 to have alongside my echo control to keep it fresh! Luke Rainbird
i might sound stupid but to street bikes pedel harder because i miss being able to go fast and do jumps and things ? If you put different gearing on them, yes. i have been riding 8 months now and im starting to miss speed and jumping. How long have you been riding? BradJohnson
If you put different gearing on them, yes. If i change the gearing will i still be able to pedal kick still ?
DeVal
if there are no other riders in your area it gets very boring but if you can meet up with peeps and learn off and be in competition with its not so bad. thats the problem i have in my area. specialy when you live in such a crap town for trials obsticals lol
Ali C
as I said, get a streety bike, once you put on some low profile tyres and pump them up a bit, trials gearing is still good enough to get plenty of speed and if you take the brakes off the feeling of speed is improved further. dann2707
You have to find new obstacles and new challenges to bring the fun back.
Carlperkins
ive hit that low point in trials abit too... i had a little low point where i thought i was never gonna get the hang of it, then it suddenly clicked and i could pedal kick, that opened it all up again and ive been able to do more stuff.. now i really need to learn pedal ups, big drop offs and 180/360 spins, as soon as they click i spose things will get a whole load more interesting and new lines will open up. its just the time it takes to learn it, takes its toll. i might try some brakeless like ali c sugested though, may make things a bit more interesting. plus where i live is pretty flat. and im abit too shit to ride what is here haha. practice..practice..practice... BradJohnson
Ali's suggestion tempted me all though i wouldn't go brakeless because i don't have the gutts i'd keep a back brake. I'm wanting to start dirt jump biking where as if i got a street trials bike i suppose i could do both street trials and dirt jumping. konstant
Obvious, but consider getting a second bike so you can get your speed kicks. I go through phases of riding more XC than trials, but often find that I'm more confident on the trials bike after a bit of a break. Luke Rainbird
Why stop there? Throw gears on and have suitable gearing for the lot.

ben_travis
i was most definitely in the same position. nothing has motivated me more in trials than purchasing my inspired hex. without a doubt the best thing i could have done. (except now it f*cked my ankle). i have new goals, aims and thing i want to progress. and more importantly, i am sh*t at trials again. it may sound weird, but its true. being rubbish at trials again spurs me on to learn and improve. Something i definitely lost when i rode longer bikes in my older TGS style that people knew i rode. if you are after the speed aspect, as ali said, get a shorter bike, pump up your tires, and get your ar*e into hitting some kickers. i will never ride long bikes again after riding my inspired. so much fun
eskimo
Inspired with gears = sorted. I always thought they were over hyped, but they are actually a really really good all round bike with the right parts. I ate my words big time

True that, I went to a koxx after riding streety bikes. The koxx was fun but you are limited to its use. Now that I am nearly recovered from my ankle op my HEX could not be any better to ride…LOVE IT! I will also have a new echo to keep up with the trialsy side of things. Ben, what happened to your ankle now mate?
