dirt jumper jake
Yo, think im going to give front vees a go because im fed up of having to sort out sticky pistons and all the other shit that maguras cause. Im gonna be using Deore LX Calipers With Inspired pads & Either a Jagwire or Odyssey cable. but im not sure what lever to go for? I had an Avid SD7 lever on my old BB7, and quite frankly i thought it was pants, are there any other good levers about? are shimano ones any good? I know im gonna need one with a decent spring in it so cheap ones arent what im gonna be buying... Ali C
I found the SD7s to be far the best, they are comfy and have the speed dial adjustment which is dead handy
Ash-Kennard
i also think the sd7s are the best, the xtr ones are horrible and the ultimates arent all that either

Miles Mallinson
If you don't like the adjuster knob on it then go for the cheaper FR5 they are pretty much the same lever blade and body apart from the adjustments.
dann2707
Nah the fr5 is horribly uncomfy . I swapped mine within 2 weeks. I'm now using this all black stealthy looking lever bought from Dan on here and its perfect. Although he upgraded that to a sd7 lol
fathopper
Currently using the Sd7 for the rear and the fr5(silver one) for the front. And been running them for years there both pretty good levers in my opinion and fully serviceable. You say about your blade wobbling, thats because the two top hat bushes are prone to breaking, but still you can just strip it down and get replacements then back to good again. Scott Gibbs
Shimano xtr levers are good but have a pretty hefty price tag that i personally cant justify. In all fairness i cant rate the sd7 highly enough. I've ran them on my trials bike and now on my hardtail and i love them.
jambo
I currently run an XTR lever which is at the most a year old and the wobble from the lever blade is a total joke. I do however like the feel and shape of the lever blade on it which is why its still on my bike but there is a spanking sd7 in the wings waiting for its shot a glory, much better made lever for your money.
