Hi guys,

I've just signed on so I think I should say hello.

I'm currently based in London and riding BMX but I wanted to try trials and see how that fits me.

I'm not looking for a 20"..I think I'll just start with a 26" as further on I might want to move on to a 24".

On tartybikes I saw the Onza Hitman (http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/26_inch_trials_bikes/onza_hitman/c47p10275.html) as it is the only affordable one. I know it won't be much good but could it be ok for starters?

I don't want to be spendig money on something I might not pick up.

Do you think I could get a better deal looking through used bikes?

if you do bmxing the best thing for you is to move to a 24" Bike because they are more street based riding. I ride a Onza Zoot and it is a really good bike to start on. I got the bike at Christmas time for i moved on from bmxing but i wasnt very good at bmxing since i got a onza zoot i have improved a lot it is a nice bike to ride but then that is my opinion

If I were you I would try and have a go on both a 26" and 24" before you buy a bike to see which size you prefer. As for buying a bike defiantly check through the 'For Sale' section on here as some pretty good bikes pop up now and again for around the same price as that Onza, also the parts on used bikes are usually quite good so there would be no need in buying new parts which you may want to do if you bought the Onza.

Wow 180 pounds!

http://cgi.ebay.ie/ONZA-HITMAN-BRAND-NEW-2010-TRIALS-BIKE-/250805455678?pt=UK_Bikes_GL&hash=item3a652b8b3e

At this price wouldn't it be worth getting this one?

umm i don't know my mate has a Onza Cleaner which has similar parts to this but by what i have seen it looks really clunky

watch this video and you will see what i mean

also if there is a bike you like and you find it somewhere cheaper TartyBikes will try and match the price of that bike but if its a really low price say over £100-£150 lower they may not do it because its making it a lot cheaper than it usually is

I don't like it much..it looks a bit "supermarket" to me

But on the other hand 180 pounds is a great price

What do you think I should do?

PS: how's 300£ for this?

Well I can see why you don't want to spend much for a bike as you are new to trials; however, the more you spend the better the bike will be (theoretically speaking). In my opinion I wouldn’t go for the 'cheap' 26" Onza, therefore if I were you I would defiantly go for that Lesson 24", looks like a rather good bike, especially for £300, and the only thing you would need to buy extra would be a front brake. Is this onza really that bad? :D

I'm just very afraid of spending too much for something that I might not pick up..

Well I don’t think there’s anything worse, but that is my opinion, some people might like them, however I would go for that Lesson 24" while it’s still for sale.

ok I'll see about that ;)

If I find something I'll post it here

Edit: Found this one http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/4041291/

Frame: phasse 1.3 blue with one larger scuff on the downtube no dents or cracks has not been riden hard

Forks: standered phase forks sprayed black disc only

Wheels: are standered wheels super strong mini buckle in the rear wheel and has a faded grind

Echo short low rise stem with onza bars and random grips

Has avid sd5 brake levers and hayes mx2 front disc with shimano roter

Then a v-brake on the rear with good silver arms and avid lever again

Echo driveside crank and standered left crank ( i do have the other echo its just the pedal threads are gone )

Its single speeded so has a tensioner, and its running a paneracer front tyre not to worn and a 2.3 tioga on the rear

The guy would want 200 to 250£..what do you think?

That brakeless one seems nice..obviously I'll throw on a pair of HS11..only my BMX can be brakeless

200£ is a bit steep and I don't know if it's worth it but I'd like opinions anyway
