Mad Phase Riders In Southend Region

Recommended Posts

Hi

Im looking at buying a MAD Phase 1.1 for my birthday in a few weeks.

I really like the bike but I want to see it alongside my current bike to see if I can use some of its components.

It would also be nice to feel the weight and have a quick spin on one.

I live near Southend in Essex and I remember seeing the MAD team here. I wonder if anyone knows of dates they will be around so I could go test the bike and see it with mine. Or if anybody lives near me with a MAD, i wondered if I could come and see it?

It would be great if you could let me know before May. Help would be much appriciated.

Thanks Josh.

Hey dude, i ride in Southend :)

What bike do you have atm? Most parts should be interchangeable (Y)

At the moment I got a Diamondback Kubuki mono. Got it to start trials but its not great. but i got a hope pro 2 rear hub with a 26 x 2.50 rim. So id wana put that on to ride it single speed.I wasnt sure if the rim was too wide and catch the Maggies or if the axel on my hub would fit.

Also not sure if my current chain would fit and my tensioner which is 1 of these.

Cheers

Hi Josh, it sounds like you most likely saw us at one of the many cycle Southend events. Unfortunately we have no demos with them at the moment due to lack of council funding.

What bike do you currently have?

The Phase 1.1 is the best spec of the three models. Everything is transferable to another trials bike. The forks are a standard 1" 1/8. The frame and fork brake mounts are 4 bolt mounts. The cranks use an external bottom bracket.

Great spec for the money, and currently you can get a real bargain at the moment if you search around online.

The weight of the 1.1 isn't a really light spec nor is it a heavy spec. But the 1.1 will happily take any upgrades you buy if you decide to do so at a later date.

Hope this helps Josh.

Well thats a shame.. really loved the shows btw.

Thanks for the info.

Axle will fit fine, the frame is a 135mm width. The rim isn't a 26x2.5 that'll be your tyre size. Trials rims measure up from approx 38mm wide -48mm wide. The tyre may be too wide for the frame, but this depends on what rim you are using.

Couldnt find my rim on the web but It measured up to be about 45mm.

Thanks
