RossMcd
hey guys! well.. as I was delacing my rear wheel today i noticed the hubshell on my king has a little crack on the non drive side flange. It goes from one of the spoke holes to the outer edge. I can actually see through the crack. I still carried on with building the wheel back up anyway but do you guys reckon this will cause me problems later on? like... Will the spoke rip out the shell or anything? It seems to be fine at the moment but i didnt really bash around on it. Any opinions here whether it will hold up for me or whether my hub will just blow up on me? Thanks.. Luke Rainbird
You do run the risk of part of the flange snapping which would most likely cause the wheel to go out of true and could send you flying I guess. Speak to King and see if you can blag a replacement, just don't mention the word "trials"!

Ill go back to front freewheel I think.

You can usually pick up a hubshell for not too much money on here if youre lucky - someone might have one floating about, would be cheaper than a ffw setup (assuming you dont have the ffw in stock already). Ross McArthur
As much as I love my Kings, the flanges do seem to crack after a bit of abuse. Ive sent my hubs to America to be fixed twice, for free! They even changed the type of shell and the colour for me! Great bunch of guys. As has been said though. Dont mention Trials.
