LROB87
sorry to flood the board with questions this is hopefully my last one then i can get my bike done and bugger off! lol i have 22t middleburn's and after talking to a few people it seems a 18t freewheel or single speed sprocket would be best on the back but i cant find any rear freewheels they all seem to be front and i cant find an 18t fixed cog either. I'm probably going to gt a fixed hub so what are my options? can anyone point me in he right direction, cheers
Luke Rainbird
A freewheel is a freewheel, the only difference between it being a front freewheel or a rear freewheel is where you put it. If you're running 'burns you'll need either a freehub (with a fixed sprocket) or a fixed hub (wheel a freewheel). Otherwise you're on a fixie. Luke Rainbird
There are 2 types of rear hub; Ones which move (freehub) and ones which don't (fixed). There are 2 types of sprocket; Ones which move (freewheel) and ones which don't (fixed). Somewhere in your drivetrain you need something to move, or it's fixed all round and you'll have issues rolling anywhere without having to pedal. If you run a fixed hub, put a freewheel on it. If you run a freehub you just need a common or garden sprocket.
