crispyboy
So im thinking of giving vee brake a try on the front of my 20" because maguras arnt the best on the front and i like to have a free running bike (no disc rub). I just want to know the pros and cons really and peoples experiences with them. I would be running shimano xtr levers and calipers wih onza adaptors. whats the best pads ? etc discuss. Thanks alot
dann2707
Absolutely savage once set up right. Can be feathered I find. Not a lot of messing about getting pads sqaure to rim etc. Lighter than a HS33 or disk. A lot more hold than a maggy. I just can't justify putting one on the rear.. it just seems wrong? Lol. On the front though its class.

jambo
The xtr calipers can be a bit flexi, i prefer cheap avid ones or the cheap shimano deore ones bargain!

ogre
I just want to know the pros and cons really and peoples experiences with them. onza adaptors. whats the best pads ? etc No! onza adapters are bad and snap happy... go for neon ones. I likes vee's, i've been using them for about 3 years of easily my heaviest/biggest riding and there awesome! lighter than a magura with dedicated mouths and if you kill parts of them then you can usually get affordable spare parts in most bike shops. maguras not so much... heatsinks or TNN pads are the way to go with vee pads, but if you buy a new sd5 or sd7 the wrim wrangler pads are prety savage...
