Southend Trials
Ok, this may not deserve its own thread but this will get the quickest response which is what I need. Ok, the jobs for a theme park, so quite clearly not the office job.. i think a suit is abit over the top, any ideas / suggestions?
Revolver
Theme park? A neoprene dinosaur suit.
LukasMcNeal
Still a suit? If not a shirt and tie. You may not have to wear a suit for the job bit it's the effort that counts.

Revolver
A suit can be a little bit too smart for some things. It depends on the job. Also, screw ties. Edited April 15, 2011 by Revolver

Southend Trials
Ok, i think ive decided lmao! light grey trousers, white long sleeve shirt with white plain tee underneath to hde the sweat marks van plimsol things (brand new, so there not f**ked) i've just been told to wear shoes that are suitable for the nature of the job as you may start the same day as the interview.. now coat? or no coat? because turning upto an interview with nothing in your hands, no coat kinda looks like you've just walked in from the street? or am i thinking about this too much? Tony Harrison
Yeah, bin the suit. Trousers and shirt sounds good. On the (thankfully few) occasions when my work requires me to smarten up, I never bother with a tie. It's pointless. I do however delight in wearing the torn, tatty jacket that's been with me on all kinds of adventures. It's rarely washed, and spots a wide variety of stains.

Fish-Finger-er
unless "swarve" means "like a chobber" in essex, your way off mark, jamie had it pretty much spot on with what he had there. way i was always told to dress for an interview that doesnt require a suit, but is formal. dress like youve got to attend a wedding reception, that you want to pull the bridesmaid at. That way youll dress smart enough to fit in, but not that smart you look like a chump. whacking a white polo above some suit trousers, or wearing black trousers, with a plain white shirt above it, makes it look like your in almost school uniform/dressing smart for a funeral because you have to. and whacking a hoodie and trainers on, just accentuates this look. wear a shirt, but wear a shirt with some detail(i dont mean flames up the back of it, or chinese dragons), to the point where you could swap your trousers for jeans and be seen wearing it on a night out. trousers, go charcoal or black, likewise matching belt, you dont want stuff to stand out to much, just because you think it looks alternative smart casual, the blokes who interviewing you may be the wrong side of 50, and just think your crap at matching colours. Its better to not make an impression with your clothes, and leave it up to your actual interview to impress, than to make a bad impression and not have a chance from the off. Simpson
For adventure island, trackies and a tight vest, with a fag behind your ear, and air max trainers.... Jeans and a smart polo will be fine for something like that, went to a business meeting today in jeans, nike prestos, and a fred perry. lol
dann2707
Personally regardless of what the job entails I would always dress smart. Trousers and a shirt with black shoes. Shows that you put effort in and are more likely to put effort in at the workplace.
Southend Trials
So many mixed replys! im not going to go wearing a suit, its a theme park not an admin job, i got told by a freind that worked their that there is a possibility you could start the same day you are given the job.. mind f**k. JD™
Wear suit trousers, a shirt and tie, and smart shoes. Don't forget this is your first impression. If they hire you and you don't end up working that day because you're not appropriately dressed, you've still planted the seed in their mind that you care about the role (whether you do or not) and you're a tiny bit more likely to be considered for higher paid roles in the time that you're there. I'm assuming it's not a career choice for you, but you might as well give yourself the opportunity to earn more money while you're there right?
