bike_dummie
hi, I have just got a hope mono trial on the front and after about 2hours of riding it was slightly spongy and I had black oily stuff on my disc, can any one shed some light on my situation? Thanks Adam
monkeyseemonkeydo
Sounds like you've got dead seals in the caliper and it's leaking fluid onto the pads and rotor. Check it's not the bore cap or bleed nipple that's loose but if they're ok you'll be looking at new seals, new pads, possibly a new rotor, and a fresh bleed... bike_dummie
Thanks i thought it may be the seals, is this what i will need?
monkeyseemonkeydo
Thanks i thought it may be the seals, is this what i will need? Yup, they're the puppies. You'll need two- one for each piston (unless you know only one is a problem). Depending how old the brake is (and the overall condition of it) it may be worth getting the complete seal kit as it also includes the bore cap o-ring and the lever piston seals etc.
