Luke Dunstan
I went riding a couple of weeks ago, and think I pushed myself too far trying to pedal up on to a wall. I first felt the pain then, I waited a week before riding again, and my shoulders still really hurt. Feels like it's actually in the joint. Tried riding a week later and within 5 minutes of light riding I was in agony, felt like my shoulders wanted to pop with a good stretch (which they didn't) Anyone else experienced shoulder pains? I'm not as light as I used to be, so maybe my arms trying to hold 14st of me on the corner of a wall is too much? Help!?!
J.KYDD
See a physio. Edit: Have you seen the sticky? Edited April 13, 2011 by kyddie
Luke Dunstan
See a physio. Edit: Have you seen the sticky? Yeah I've read that, cheers buddy. Was just wondering if it's a typical ailment?
forteh
Again, see a physio, I partially dislocated my right shoulder the october before last, I wrenched it again a few weeks ago and although it doesnt seem to have affected the strength of the joint, I know something isnt right with it; I cant move my right hand as far up between my shoulder blades as my left. Got a referral to see the physio just to check there isnt any damage to the rotator cuff, last thing I want is to cause further damage because it isnt fully rehabilitated. I shall take advice from you both and head to my Doctor in the hope of a referral to Physio. Many thanks. forteh
I think with rotator cuff injuries you will likely get a referral without much hassle because it can cause so many problems if its even only partially injured. From what I understand its a naturally unstable joint and if one bit is weak, the rest of it is overcompensating and can be causing greater problems down the line. It took 2 GP visits to get a physio referral for when I first did my shoulder; the symptons were completely unrelated though, my index and middle finger went numb and lost movement, I also lost all strength in the thumb. They referred me after I went back and complained because it got to the point that I couldnt click a mouse button - pretty important for a draughtsman using autocad all day every day!
