thewoomaster
Hey guys, Well i got a rear maggie with phat pads, when i tap it will hold but on pre-loading it don't i can roll the rear wheel back, it will even roll back with little movements it just dont have that bite no more. I have sanded the pads, cleaned the rim, put new oil in (twice to make sure no air etc) also set them up to many times with no joy. Pads have life left on them. Azarathal
Bleed your brakes with water using Revolvers Bath Bleed guide found in his signiture (Do a search for him) Grind your rim!

Azarathal
Will try new pads but phat pads were mint, may just a refil will sort it? smooth rim no grind, water a no go(Y) Thats why I said Grind and why refuse to water bleed? Both of those things will improve your brake 10x. Phat's are designed for a grind, of course they're going to be shit on smooth.
Revolver
Maybe try a booster too. Mind, you can get an angle grinder for the price of a booster, and a grind is likely to solve your problem better than a booster.

Azarathal
Ofc phatpads can be used for both but they're designed for a grind. Regarding the water bleed you most likely got a sticky piston and instead of simply lubing it up you got rid of it.

Never fought of that will try lubing the pistons.. not go down the grind or smooth path
Azarathal
Never fought of that will try lubing the pistons.. not go down the grind or smooth path I mean you got the sticky piston because of the water, with an oil bleed it's rare to get one. I give up. Who else wants to help?
thewoomaster
well new pads seemed to have worked, ta for trying to help. nb88
Brake booster, Decent pads, Decent bleed (water is best), Grind on a good rim, Pads set up square to the rim, Strong brake finger? = Perfect brake
