Electric Trials Bike?

The more you post the less hope for humanity I have.

Anyway. It'd be too heavy and expensive. If you want to do trials with an engine do Mototrials.

I already do mototrials it would a light version which could be used in the back garden without the neighbours complaining

There was a system everyone used to use back in the day that really helped with traveling long distances. It mounted onto the freehub body and was operated by a variable length cable, worked quite well but i can't for the life of me remember the name. G somethings?

Many people have already created electric prototypes as already posted in the above links.

I think the biggest problem people face when building an electric trials bike is finding motors powerful enough and batteries light/small enough that can retain viable amounts of energy for prolonged riding periods.

Also, creating an electric trials bike nearer the size and weight of a push bike is unrealistic with current technology :( I've got to admit though, if you could create a trials push bike with a tiny motor linked to the back wheel and a small battery pack just to give you that extra 'power boost' when needed I'm sure it would be great fun and really push the boundaries of trials.

what would be the best gears for a trials bike because I cant imagine them lasting that long under the force they'd be put under?

I agree, im sure one of these days someone will find a way to keep batteries small but powerful

Well, they made that car, the Tesla, that's as powerful as a sports car and lasts as long as one too.

It has a load of batteries in it, which makes it roughly the same weight as a car with an engine. Only it's much more of a dick to recharge than an engine, where you just pour petrol in there.

So with that in mind, you may as well just put an engine on there, it's more convenient. I think they have those already though, not sure.

at the moment engines are probably better but I hope some time soon someone will make a light, powerful and long lasting electric bike because I think it would be amazing to ride and it would open up a much bigger variety on things to do.
