Azarathal
Hey guys, recently bought a rear hope mono trials for my Zhi Z3. It seems like the tabs on the caliper are too short to bolt in? Heres a pic of the brake I bought and a close up of the disk mount on a Zhi Z3. Azarathal
Cheers, is it a #3 or #5?
AdamR28
You have 5, need 3, or one of these in +20: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/disc_brake_spares/hope_iso_disc_brake_adaptor/c110p23.html
Azarathal
What would you recommend then? Buying the Adapter or trying to find a trade?
Revolver
Get the adaptor.
Azarathal
Get the adaptor. I guess this is the easiest route to take, cheers guys.
Revolver
Easiest, and most versatile.
Azarathal
Wrong caliper. Wrong adaptor. 1: I can't even get it to bolt onto my frame as one of the adaptors holes 'Doesn't quite reach' 2: Only two of the holes on the adaptor are threaded so if I filed my frames disc tab slightly to make it fit I still couldn't bolt my brake on. SamKidney
the two threaded holes are the ones that take the bolts to the frame. So bolt goes through the frame to the adaptor. The two umthreaded holes are what the calliper bolts onto. So bolts go through the non threaded holes in the adaptor, and into the threaded holes in your calliper. Tighten up, boom. Correctly placed calliper.
Azarathal
Yeah I worked that out after my post, the problem now is that the mount itself seems to be in the way so the bolt holes don't line up, going to swap front and rear clipers, front is a #

Would seem so if your current avid adaptor fits. Something wrong with the adaptor. Before you swap callipers over, bolt the front onto the rear before you detach anything to see if its right
Azarathal
Yeah I'm going to check the front caliper before I swap them. The picture with the avid brake on is an example of the mount on my bike.

Azarathal
The #3 caliper doesn't fit either. don't really want to file / grind my frame or new adapter. Any other options?
AdamR28
Someone didn't design that frame very well then Only option would be a different brake I guess, if that even fits...
