Joe O'Connor
About 20mins ago I dropped off the back of our sofa, about 1 meter high and I must have landed really stiff because I felt a jarring up my neck and can hardly move my head now. I can move it about 40 degrees one way and thats all because of the pain. What the hell did I do and how the hell can I fix it??!!!!! It hurts like a (insert word of choice). Thanks Joe

Joe O'Connor
I just did but my neck still wont move. Have any helpful advice?
Luke Dunstan
I was watching television once, and moved my head and my neck clicked. Couldn't move my head to the left, and only about 10 degrees to the right. and my spine was in an S shape. Turned out it was some kind of spasm. Used heat rub for a few days and it gradually improved. Hope it's something like this, otherwise it could be pretty serious. Dr. Luke Dunstan PHD. monkeyseemonkeydo
You'll just have tweaked a muscle. Done it a couple of times. Found deep heat helped quite well, maybe pop a couple of ibuprofen's to reduce any inflammation and help with the pain. monkeyseemonkeydo
Thanks bro. It sure isnt very fun right now. Sucks doesn't it, feels like you've done something major. But yeah, try and relax and it'll go eventually, with deep heat helping things along. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow probably worth speaking to your (medical) doc! Joe O'Connor
Yeah, feels quite major, seeing as it was over nothing but a small drop. Its slooooowly coming right by sitting on the sofa with my laptop.
N.Wood
Right ok listen up and listen up good. Go see a chiropractor. They'll give you advice. I did my neck/upper back when i fell backwards 3 foot straight onto my head on a rock (with helmet on that cracked - cheers Specialized!). Went to a chiropractor because i'm not a spastic. He told me the reason for loss of movement (scar tissue is randomly oriented and cant stretch as far as normal muscle tissue), clicked everything back into place and gave me some excersises to stretch it. 3 sessions and £100 lighter and its much better. Not perfect, but good enough.

CurtisRider
Go see a chiropractor. THIS. I just have had a few sessions due a locked vertebrae (very painful) and its amazing how quickly these guys can make you feel better. I had a twisted pelvis from an MX accident about 10 years ago, 5 years of doctors saying it was just muscular pain and it would heal itself, i saw a chiropractor and within 6 sessions i was back to normal again. monkeyseemonkeydo
Have you farted in a wind tunnel? Should I have?! Done lots of other things in wind tunnels but not broken wind. Actually, I have been in a tunnel when someone else has farted and we did switch the fan on at low RPM to move the offending odour... Luke Dunstan
Should I have?! Haha, no. But it's the first thing i'd do. Which is the main reason why I'm not about to become a Doctor.

dann2707
I know your pain! Did this in a lesson at School really randomly and the pain was awful. Couldnt move it for ages. Eventually just got better after a few days. Weird
