Damon W
been running a tensile 60 click for awhile now, and to be honest really like it, but its getting tatty and is very warped and flared. was thinking along the lines of echo sl but wondering peoples thoughts? the system LOOKS good and theoreticly should be a winner, just curious of any problems people have had cos im qwite a heavy rider and dont want to waste my time if its likely to brake. thanking you
Martin Reynolds
One word, YES! never skips, 3 out of 3000 failure rate tarty said. Big man uses one, and he swears by it
SamKidney
The system LOOKS good and is VERY good. Very solidly built, solid feeling and overall tough freewheel. Very precise engagements, has never skipped on me and is claimed it should almost never do so. In answer to your question, they are worthy of the hype Edited April 6, 2011 by Echo Lite
Rockman
Good, but mine bent and rubbed on bashring somehow ? and it cracked in 8 months with fairly light riding, but in other words good while it lasted!

Yours must have been 1 of 3 in 3000 that's flawed! unlucky mate.
Rockman
Yours must have been 1 of 3 in 3000 that's flawed! unlucky mate. Haha, yeah, both my mates have the new one, and its brilliant, super loud and reaaaally good engagement!
isitafox
I've never had a problem with mine, would love another on my mod but can't afford it!
monty221ti
i cracked one of the steel versions but got the TI version now, and it's really good:) Edited April 7, 2011 by monty221ti
Kieran Morrison
Its really good, but in the past few months i have noticed mine click (not miss any engagements, maybe it skips 2 or 3) but just a click that you can feel in your feet. Probably because my chain is so loose! And it skips when your trousers get cought in it; But it wont when they are out.
biker boy!
Ive got 2 bikes with echo sl's on one runs like a dream and sounds amazing the other (which is new!)sounds like a bag of nails! but even though it sounds rough and has since new it (fingers crossed) doesn't skip and inspires confidence over previous freewheels! AdamR28
never skips, 3 out of 3000 failure rate tarty said. Pretty sure nobody here has even said that, but please feel free to show me where if I'm wrong! % wise, they are definitely the best, and the engagement is always very positive. Martin Reynolds
Im pretty sure you said that Adam, ill find the post
AdamR28
I think I said that the first batch was 3000 (sold worldwide) and we'd only heard of 3 failures to that point - of course we don't hear of every single trials item that breaks though! Was a fair while ago mind you!
Martin Reynolds
So you did say it then Nah, what im trying to say is that's a respectable failure rate, considering the amount of abuse freewheels go through
AdamR28
In my opinion there is a pretty big difference between 'only 3 have ever broken' in April 2011 and 'we've only heard of 3 broken so far' about a year ago - but yeah, if you only look at the numbers that's what I said... Luke Rainbird
i have noticed mine click (not miss any engagements, maybe it skips 2 or 3) Eh?
Mark W
If you're chain's loose it's most likely just skipping teeth rather than the freewheel being the problem?

Rusevelt
Performance wise, the internal mechanism is seconded to none so the only issue for you, is weather or not strength of the outer ring will hold up to your 'tank' riding when you consider the fact that you have warped the Tensile outer ring which is harden cromo, the SL is alu.
AdamR28
the SL is alu. It's also hardened steel (magnetic), alu would last literally 2 minutes.
Scott Gibbs
I know that they are designed for trials but i quite often ride my bike to work (if i can be bothered!) and i wondered if that i was to do so would it wear it out alot faster or not? AdamR28
Nah, we've sold them to singlespeed riders too - in fact a guy bought another one for his second bike the other day to replace the ENO that's on there currently. First one is 2 years old and still going

iman-k
what is the difference between new Echo SL 2011 (Black) and last ECHO SL (Silver)? ?? I heard from somebody new SL (Black) is Better.. But Sound of new SL's (Black) is lower than silvers Edited April 7, 2011 by iman-k
Rusevelt
I thought Deng stopped making the TR freewheel for 2011, but continued with the SL and titanium freewheel, just rebranding them as TR, and SL.
