JackRav Posted April 4, 2011 Report Share Posted April 4, 2011 Now im back in the game, im after a 19" back wheel and a few other parts. erhhh, back when i rode, the new echo rims just came out with all the different colours and were slated as they turned into the shape of 50p too easily. The current jobbie on my zona zip was an Onza t-bird rear wheel (now cracked/smashed hub and broke a few spokes) but many people back then said the rim width was too narrow for the frame. Whats avaliable on the current market, what would fit and work to the purpose? I dont want to spend fortunes but i dont want something that would last 10minutes. I have a fixed gear on the rear and a freewheel on the front, i dont know if that makes any difference? Its got BMX looky likey tensioners too, again, does that make a difference? Am I right in thinking that the Onza Rip is cheap and entry level and shouldnt be used for some1 who could ride quite well and returning to the sport? Some of the parts for them really do seem cheap... RB brake booster... Everybody used to use them and sell them. Quick look on tarty bikes and they dont sell them. I looked on tarty bikes as, thats all what I remember I used and my bike is stickered up with their stickers, even my tv has a tartybikes sticker on it. What im after is the bolts and spacers to mount the booster on, measured up the bolts and 5x45mm, and if I remember rightly they were titanium or some uncommon metal like it. Would the other 1s they sell do the job? Would just normal bolts with hex heads with washers work as they are bolting to a flat surface and dont see why they wouldnt work. Well... I rounded the head off 1 and replaced it with a normal old bolt and it snapped flush with the frame. Is that a hint to not use cheap bolts? Plazmatic pads, I had a quick look and failled to find them. They were great, worked very well in the dry and if i had a light grind. As I couldnt set the back brake up properly for the rear wheel, its got a hella big leading edge to the pad. Its not plazmatic, i was quite shocked as I ran them religiously but its dark blue/blacky colour and im sure its a "heatsink blue" or something like it. Is it worth cleaning them up and using it?
