Carlperkins
just bought a new frame and new 2011 maggy hs33's. i'm thinking of grinding my front and rear rims. so i was just wondering, 1. will the grinding have much of an effect on the performance of the brakes? 2. will the standard pads on the maggys be suitable for the ground rims or do i need to upgrade them too? any advice much appreciated
Aidan97
just bought a new frame and new 2011 maggy hs33's. i'm thinking of grinding my front and rear rims. so i was just wondering, 1. will the grinding have much of an effect on the performance of the brakes? 2. will the standard pads on the maggys be suitable for the ground rims or do i need to upgrade them too? any advice much appreciated Grinding your rim gives your brake quite a bit more hold and for your pads they will be fine on a ground rim You should have more than enough hold with just grinding your rim. I only use standered magura pads on a ground rim and there working fine and haven't wore down much Edited April 4, 2011 by Aidan97
Sam T
Best bet would be to buy either, Heatsink, Tnn, Rockman or Phat pads for best performance. Also heard that the cheap red material found on eBay is good. Edited April 4, 2011 by Sam T
Laurence--Trials
Hey mate, grinds are defiantly worth it! Make bite and hold so much better while making the brakes work in the wet too! Most rims hold around 20 grinds from what i've herd. I didn't know how much you knew so i just put most things What new frame you got? Will have to ride soon, Easter holidays soon (for two weeks) so will have to ride then maybe? EDIT: I'd recommended heatsink yellow pads! Edited April 4, 2011 by Laurence--Trials

Carlperkins
more street to be honest mate, i can do pedal kicks and bounce on the rear wheel pretty well, but as far as going up and down walls and stuff i need some practice. gonna focus more on trials than street from no though.
