My First Trials Bike

People gave advice based on the info they were given

im sorry to cause all the hassle guys. i probably shoulda been more clearer but i aint got the best memory in the world and i dont know that much about bikes and parts and i wasnt in the best of moods as you would expect.

also im kinda sorry i posted this in the first place as i probably made this worse for not only me but Darryl as well and all i asked him to do was fit a bb and cranks etc. which wasnt possible because of the state of the thread in the frame and he offered me advice which i took as it made sense and i knew he knew what he was on about being a trials rider as well as working in a bike shop and im glad that i had the advice and he had explained why he couldnt fit it. he showed me that there was nothing he could do to fit the bb and that i should contact the seller to get a refund as it wasnt worth getting the bike sorted because of the state of it. he shouldnt have had this hassle as he did nothing wrong and its partially my fault for describing what happened to my bike and so i thought i'd kinda bring this whole topic to an end.

ive now given the bike back to the seller and they are giving me a refund when they have the money so that i can start looking for a bike again. not much else to say really and so telling me to replace the frame or get a threadless bb wont make much difference as i dont have the bike any longer.

this thread is well funny.

basically, he bought a polished turd of a bike,

took it to a bike shop who said it was shit and couldnt do anything about it,

he took the bike back and is hopefully getting a refund,

all the rest is just argumentative really.

i suggest you get your £100 back for the bike,

keep all the parts you've bought etc, or sell to fund a new bike. if you lose a bit of cash, who cares right?

save up a little more and buy another trials bike,

this time take a little ride on it when you pick it up, (pull and endo/skid) twist the bars and turn the pedals to see if theres any roughness,

maybe take your very knowledgeable mate to check it out with you,

forget about the first bike completely, if you lose a bit of cash.. who cares? moneys money right? you can live without an extra 20 in your pocket,

remember the old saying.... you buy cheap, you buy twice. I'm not saying spend £800 on a new bike, but get a reasonable one, £200-£300.

a decent t-pro for £100 seemed abit too good to be true. and things that seem too good to be true... usually are.

btw.. nobody call me retarded or have a go for giving my opinion, please?

it was a polished turd to be honest and i probably shoulda checked it over before. i tried to get a refund but they came up with every possible excuse to get out of it and also because i didnt decide to ask for a refund until after a month and i couldnt be bothered with the hassle of getting the money back and as i changed some things on the bike before i even found out about other problems my bike had i wouldnt have been able to successfully dispute its so ive lost the money.

im now tempted to buy a bike either brand new but as cheap as possible or from a friend or friend of a friend so that they wont try to hide any problems.

So if your not getting your money back why did you give them the bike back? You might as well have kept it, there must have been something on it you could have re used.

There probably gonna sell it on to the next unsuspecting person and make even more money off of it.

i'd already given them the bike so they could look at it as they said they would see if there was anything they could do and after all of this hassle i'd rather not go and see them again to get the bike back because im not happy with them. the only things worth any money on the bike was the brake pads and the stuff i bought and still have which is the cranks and front wheel

Who has the money in their hands has always won, that's an italian proverb ;)

Never, ever give anything back and wait for the money..I did it too with a computer part and ended up loosing 70€ because the ass hole just disappeared once he had the parts back
