Kieran Morrison
Hey, I'm going into 3rd year soon so i have to pick my course choices. I'm stuck on one, I keep hearing in business economics (NOT Home Economics) that its really rubish because you get a ton of work. Im not really bothered about this but i have also heard its boring. I'm quite interested, and was wondering if anyone on here had taken it and could tell me if its good and if all the homework is worth it? Also, they are taking buisiness ec out of scottish schools, so my year is the last to do it ever, so that makes me want to take it even more Cheeeers

Sounds quite interesting, you need credit maths and credit english to do it and ive been recommended for both credit so it must involve maths so ill find it quite easy, i enjoyed it in 1st year but no doubt its different in 3rd year and we didnt do much in 1st year of it
Andrew C
I took economics in school, it was pretty decent and was one of my better subjects
Laurence--Trials
I've taken business, in my last few months of it at the moment. I'd highly recommend avoiding it. I'll give reasons later if needed, cba at the moment.
LukasMcNeal
Theres alot worse subjects, but overall it isn't bad
bikeperson45
3rd year the same as GCSE? I'm doing it as A-Level, and Economics is very different from Business Studies (which I did at GCSE). It's much more about the economy as a whole rather than focusing on one business, I thought they would be pretty similar but I was wrong. If you're genuinely interested in what's happening in the economy at the moment, like unemployment, social welfare and inflation, then Economics would be a good choice. If you're more interested in advertising, types of businesses (franchises, sole traders etc.) and how they are ran by management, go for business studies. Although, there is the stigma that's apparently associated with subjects ending with 'studies', although obviously do the one your more interested in and think you would do better in then what would look good on a university application. Nope third year is the start of the standard grade courses, the exams (gsce) are in fourth year then highers (guessing that's a level) is 5th year

Kieran Morrison
Business management or Economics? I did both at advanced higher this year after doing higher and standard grade in the past few years... They're both the easiest subjects I've ever taken - You learn everything you need to know in third year, so 4th year is spent basically just revising what you did in 3rd. Might aswell take it - what are you planning on taking? Economics. Do you mean what else im taking? Woodwork, Geography, modern studies, Physics, Economics and PE
