Luke Rainbird
If you can find out what diameter post the Giant is supposed to take you can just grab a shim from CRC/similar to take your Inspired post to the right size without having to replace it. Edit; You'll just need a 27.2mm -> <size on Giant> http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Categories.aspx?CategoryID=215
monkeyseemonkeydo
Looks like most Giants are around the 30.8/30.9mm mark. As Luke says, you just need to buy a shim.

Luke Rainbird
Both - Your seatpost is 27.2mm, the frame is around 30.8mm (assuming Dave is correct which he normally is!) Grab a 27.2-30.8mm shim and you're set

Luke Rainbird
Glad to help. All we ask in return is that you post up some nice pictures once you've finished the build Edit; quick check on CRC says that these two should be the right size for you, just gotta chose between plastic or alu: 1.http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=43707 2.http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=6258

24martin
with or without a little bodging? i may be able to help in the context (or skilled art) of bodging!! in regards to the seat and seat post, this bodge will only work if you run your seat relatively low and out of the way (like on any fourplay/hex/zoot etc, where the seat exists purely for cosmetic purposes) step 1: go to your local beverage customer interface consultancy (shop) and purchase a canned beverage of any kind (i used a guinness can ) step 2: drink it step 3: cut the top and bottom off the can, then slice down the remaining part of the can vertically, making sure to re-attatch any fingers cut off during this process step 4: wrap the can around the seat post and trim to size needed, once you have the correct size, simply stick a tiny peice of tape on the can to hold it in place whilst you slide it into the frame.. adjust height, tighten seatclamp, bodge complete - one custom limited edition hand made guinness seat post shim Edited March 30, 2011 by onzamartin
