stewie87
hey guys ive ordered some lovely trialtech foams thanks to tarty bikes, just a quick question whats the best way to get them to stay put on the bars i used to use hairspray years ago but ive been a lock on fan since then, is hairspray still the norm? cheers
forteh
I didnt use anything when I put my trialtechs on, slipped the end over the bars and used a track pump to inflate the grip, it then just slides onto the bars and grips; its only slipped slightly once in the rain. dann_s_2007
I use disk brake cleaner. Acts like a lubricant to get the grips on then evaporates leaving no residue or movement.
isitafox
I'm still a big follower of the cheapest crappiest stickiest hairspray technique!
craigjames
Make sure the bars are clean and a lil bit of water/spit does the job nicely!
Laurence--Trials
Dont use ANYTHING i put mine on with hairspray and i cant get them off, no matter what i use and how hard i try. When they need cleaning i have to take the bars off instead of the grips, and i cant get my front break lever off. I'll just have to cut them off when i need new ones. Martin Reynolds
Deodrant. Does the same as hairspray i guess. Laurence--Trials, i tock mine off last night by prying the grip away from the bars with a small screwdriver, and spraying deodrant down the gap. Did this both ends of the grip, and it slid straight off
trialsmax04
Spit.

Luke Dunstan
Hairspray, then to get mine off I cover the grip in warm water.

Dan6061
Hairspray is the best for foam grips! Just spray a little on, slide the grip on the bars, wait for it to dry, and you're done!
ForrestDump
I would defiantly go with hairspray, as for getting them off again I found that the best way to do it is to roll the grip off of the bar from the lever to the end.
davidbarr
My pair arrived today. I tried the spit method and i wouldn't recommend it. Took ages..
rhythm_101
i use alcohol, the stuff you buy to disinfect shizzle, then to get them off i use a syringe and needle... works a treat and dries in no time...

Dave Anscombe
i use tar to keep my grips on ! f**kers will never come off !
mat hudson
my foam grips sliped if you used anything that left a residue to put them on, they were on a carbon bar though, i dont know what you're using but i'd imagine it'd make a difference. i'd just use water to be honest and let it dry well and they should be stuck fast. dont get dust under them, thats a fukin killer!
