Oli P
Finaly got my Yaabaa built up how I wanted it. The chain stay had been snapped at the dropout end but I had it welded and an added brase to give it added strength and now matches the nondrive side. 315r
Fantastic spec!! What can you tell me about your front avid BB7? I Want to change my front brake in my yaabaa 1499 and the only thing that makes me doubt is that in comps some people said that Avid could tire your finger more than a hope, for example. This is true?

This is true? Not what I found, the lever pull on all my old bb7s (linear slic cable and XTR levers) was almost easier than my current Hope. Was never a problem. very nice, looks like new I tried not to twat her on too many rocks. A shame it snapped really!
Oli P
Thanks for all the good comments. Fantastic spec!! What can you tell me about your front avid BB7? I Want to change my front brake in my yaabaa 1499 and the only thing that makes me doubt is that in comps some people said that Avid could tire your finger more than a hope, for example. This is true? I have never had any problems with my fingers getting tired, the BB7 and BB5 have a small adjustment screw on them that allow you to adjust the strength of the spring, making it easier or harder to pull so you can adjust it to how you ride if you do find your finger is getting tired, making it too light will make it less responsive when you let go of the lever. I would say make sure that you get a good cable and lever as this will make it a lot smoother if you do go for a BB7.
ghostrider88
deffo not, with good setup the lever on BB7 is easier to pull than hope.

Ok, thanks for comments! this change my point of view about avids, for sure.... Talking about the bike. I focused that this bike have and extra reinforced plate, I don't know how to say exactly... that my yaabaa doesn't have, is this little plate in the opposite side of rear braking mount. You can see perfectly this plate in last picture, between this two tubes. Interesting because I saw one yaabaa without this plate that snapped just in this place. could be this frame have been bought recently? Maybe mine is older... On the subject of front brakes my view is: Avids are great if you do loads of gaps to front etc ...epic hold and pretty light lever feel if they are set up really well with a decent cable on the go. Unfortunately they are pretty weak, I snapped 3. I'm not saying this will happen, but it did to me! My hope had a nicer lever feel than the avid, and marginally better modulation. The hold wasn't anywhere near as good as my Avid was nor was the bite. I never broke one though
