Onza Prototype Dualdisc

Does look seriously swish, even though it is basically an affordable Sky/Rockman clone. Staying on the issue of proto frames, when the heck is the CLS signature mod gonna come out and when is Craig Lee Scott gonna release his new video?

Im loving the frame!

What rear brakes that though? Some other onza proto?

Its a Proto brake from Onza,Works a treat!

Is that a bash plate mount I spy on the down tube there?

I would loose that in the production model.

Yeah it is,Its very small though...Looks pretty smart

hmm, not sure I agree, there is more important things than weight. I would consider 1800g to be the best of both worlds. Will be strong enough to last a year or longer and not too heavy.

yea that's true, just I'm glad to see we haven't seen the weight limit in trials =)

I wish they would stop putting bloody bash mounts on their lightweight high bb mod frames?

Keep up Matt, I even mentioned in reply to your earlier comment!

It probably looks like a Koxx/Rockman/Onza mish mash because there is only so much you can do with a super light frame using round tubes around a certain geometry and weight. Change the tube profile too much and they won't be strong enough and lots of CNC bits and it won't be the target weight etc. Guess that's why it's got the webbing at the "seat tube" and Onza's unique dropout system. Looks more of an evolution of the Limey 4 frame.

Got to agree with the headtube cut out bit, why not make it the other way up or a symmetrical hole? Guess because the headtube was in a parts bin and thought, that'll do!

I like it, 1Kg is stupid light, get rid of the bash mounts (they'll never be needed) and changed the headtube? Then just see how it goes I guess. Don't know if post mount is the best way forwards though, not unless Hope change their mono trials. How have the Mono V2 brakes performed in comparison? Could use a Formula The One brake, same size pistons as a Mono Trial but post mount?

get rid of the bash mounts (they'll never be needed)

It's not even so much the 'never be needed' - it's more the fact that the tubing's going to pretty thin so the chances of using the bashplate and then battering the mount through the downtube is going to be increased.

Trials manufacturers just seem to be getting worse over the years... Since 07 the quality of frames has just gone down hill all they seem to foccusing on is the weight rather than the strength hence why you see a lot of frames snap or crack within the period of 6-12 months of the warranty this explains why they don't test this stuff out before releasing it... Hence why theres still loads of old frames going strong that people are riding today.. Not to start a rant or anything here... but id rather have a frame that is designed on strength and not weight... Now i can imagine all the weight weenies on here are gonna rant at me to be honest...

I agree.

I also agree with the candy red shiz.

Colour is a surprisingly important detail.

I dont care personally but the limey 320 puke gold is a good example, also I showed my kid the ONZA sting just before I bought one for him and lucky i did, he hated the color of it and as such would not have ridden it, so ,sale lost there I'm afraid :(
