kaybs41282
Hey everyone, what do you listen to when you ride to get you "in the zone"? Personally I like a bit of skater punk but a bit of Rise Against or Enter Shikari is also a good bet! This is a good pick me up when things aren't quite going right! All suggestions welcomed Edited March 24, 2011 by kaybs41282
isitafox
I can't ride with headphones in if thats what you mean, don't like not being able to hear whats going on around me, and my headphones are crap as well so would just fall out!! To get me in the mood for riding I like watching a few riding vids, got GET2 on my phone so thats always a good one for inspiration when I'm out and about! Used to have this problem using the normal Ipod headphones, so bought myself some of these. EDIT: I don't usually feel that 'agressive' music helps me ride, it just tends to make me angry. I like listerning to something like the below. Calming and helps me focus. Edited March 24, 2011 by Sam T
isitafox
I'll stick with squealing brakes and the like, besides, my pockets are already rammed full of stuff without the need to find room for an mp3 player as well!

Miles Mallinson
If its a street ride I don't mind some tunes but not with both headphones in, for me its Foo Fighters, Doves and Elbow also its quite nice to listen to songs which were in your favourite riding videos not Band of Horses because I'd say thats a bit over played now but most of the songs from Roam or the Earthed series are good. TrialsMan Dan
As sad as it seems ive created a playlist on my iPod for music to listen to when riding. Its 250 songs of everything from Amon Tobin to Rise Against and Fatboy Slim to The Offspring its a mix of everything really, mostly songs from my favourite riding videos, i have most of the GET2 and Our Summer soundtrack so theres a bit of hip hop and breakbeat thrown in such as Simply Cryptic, Kids in Tracksuits, The Roots, DJ Shadow, Ghost, Jedi Mind Tricks etc as well as some instrumental stuff. I find that the quieter more ambient music makes me ride better i feel more calm and can think easier, whereas i have some thrash metal stuff on there and i cant concentrate so well as theres too much noise going on. If anyone watches Top Gear you may or may not take note of the music they use but they always choose the right song to fit and some music used is just awesome, i find this website is handy for identifying songs used on Top Gear
eskimo
Generally drum n bass, punk, classical and instrumental stuff. Depends what i'm riding, where i'm riding and how i'm riding.

Zeax
The tunes i listen too are also the tunes i listen to in the gym, i find that they help both. Quite a random load of tunes though, just shove it on shuffle and see what appears haha. Example bands are; Amon Amarth, Dropkick Murphys, Limp Bizkit, Skindred, Girl Talk (Google em, they make great mashups - honest!).
Sub_Urbian
Got to have a bit of everything when riding, either put my phone on shuffle or flick through the best songs. Love listening to DnB and Dubstep when riding, for some reason just makes everything better Also love a bit of rock when riding, nickelback, Green Day, Blink 182, Nirvana etc
bikeperson45
Love it when your riding actually times in with a song, like doing a drop and just as you land the song has a pause or something, feels lurvely.
