giantwhore
Got a sticky piston on one of my slave cylinders. Anyone know of a way to strip them down, or any other way to free it up? It's barely sticking but it's enough to male the brake rub and it's really starting to piss me off!! Thanks Chris
Alex Dark
Pull the lever so they stick out loads, 3 in 1 oil around the piston. Leave for a minute or so, then continuously pump the lever. Sticky piston should have gone

AdamR28
An thoughts on how to dismantle the cylinder to service it? You *can* do it but it pretty much destroys the cylinder - you need a lot of force to remove and it usually mangles the pad clip or scores the piston surface itself. The piston is press-fitted onto a 'reverse' spring assembly (hard to explain)...
forteh
To lube the seals you need lube inside not outside. Take the slave off, blow it through with a track pump and fill it with oil (not wd40 or gt85, I mean proper oil), pump the piston in and out several times and you should have relubricated seals. Reassemble and bleed as normal - repeat when it gets sticky again or using a fluid with some sort of oil base. Im using machine coolant suds mixed 1:1 with water and it works well to keep my slaves from sticking.
