Hello everyone.

I have been riding stock for now quite a long time, and recently I have been more and more interested by mod. I am 1,80 meter, I ride both street and natural and I can't have a mod and stock bike.

I here ask your help so I can decide what I'll ride. One of my friend says I mostly use mod techniques such as sidehop directly landed on two wheels instead of using the front one to help, I also do loads of bunny-hops where I can just tap. I really don't know what to do or what to say so you can help me decide, so just ask questions, and I'll answer.

I would like both positive and negative points for mod and stock too!

Please help!

I wouldn't say landing to two wheels was a mod technique really.

Ive just moved to stock and so far everything has been better and an improvement in height/distance. I kind of do miss been able to throw the bike about a bit more but im sure when I have ridden the stock more Ill be able to throw it about just the same.

Yes this is something I might like, throwing the bike around more sounds more dynamic and then more the way I like to ride. I thought mods always did the sidehops directly to both wheels! I guess I was wrong then. Other advices welcome!

I've never thought of it as a mod technique? Just maybe more of a compy technique that lends itself to stocks. I'm only happy if i sidehop directly to two, I hate pulling it up with the front!

Danni is a classic example of someone who looks a million times better on stock.

This ^_^

I rode a coustellier v2 for nigh on 2 years, just changed to an XTP mod, then a bionic mod and now have a Z3r being built.

Personally I really disliked the mods ; they were really good fun, but hard to do anything big. I get really intimidated by how big everything is!

I say keep the Mist :) Have a go on some other bikes and see what YOU want though bey.

Yeah this is one of the things I am most frightened of actually. As you're lower on a mod, things look bigger so it's harder to get big... This really helps me now. I am still a bit confused but I'll try to forget this!

I've got both a mod and stock and tend to find the mod is fun for messing around on and having a play but when it comes to actually attempting new things and going bigger and better with my riding it always feels more fulfilling on my stock.

Kind of stock for work and mod for play if you get what I mean!

Yes so I'll stick to stock then...

I ride both mod and stock, stock being my "serious training" bike :P and mod is just my messing around bike, too see how light i could get it and see what i could do on it compared to stock. But id say stay stock, it will improve your riding loads more compared to riding mod, and to the person who mentioned the confidence thing on mods, i get that aswell, i do find things more intimidating when on little wheels compared to stock.
