sstein
Hey guys, I have a revell trials frame and I was fed up of having to use a disc on it so I got some magura mounts and v brake mounts brazed on (brazed not welded to avoid affecting the strength of the metal). The brakes work fine but the seatstays flex out quite a bit, this does not affect my riding but i was wondering is it likely to damage the frame as the tubes are quite thin? do I need to run a booster to protect the frame? Luke Dunstan
Yep, stick a booster on. flexing inevitably weakens the frame. Edited March 11, 2011 by Luke Dunstan
Ali C
won't be so bad for a steel frame, put a booster on if you want the brake to be stiffer.
BradJohnson
put a booster on it will help stop the frame flex and will make the brake work better
Dan6061
You could get a 4 bolt booster bolted straight onto the mounts with some short M5 bolts. Would be proper stiff then!
Alex Dark
I'd weld a magura evo style horseshoe booster on top, or make a nice one and weld/braze it on

Can only put on a two bolt because the lower bolts on the mounts are too wide, and i tried this, the problem is the v mounts are so much lower than the top maggie mounts
