N.Wood
Well its basically that there are much better pads out there. For a beginner they may be fine. But rest assured there are better pads out there should you find your brake slipping.

N.Wood
I use TNN LGMs on a grind and have found these to be the best available. If you don't want to grind yor rim some of the softer compound pads on tartybikes will work. Have a look through the pad reviews thread for ideas. Pretty much anything you can buy these days will be much better than magura blacks.

N.Wood
Well some sort of decent pads and a re-grind will make your brake alot better
BradJohnson
i had the grind when i was running a vee-brake so it could of been the useless pads i was using that smoothed the rim

Ross McArthur
A lot of top riders will swear by Maguras own pads. Martyn Ashton runs Kool Stop pads and seems to think he doesn’t need anything better. Im pretty sure RJ ran blacks back in the days of his Echo. It gives a silent brake on a smooth rim which is great for certain things. Mr Macaskill was a magura pad user back in the days of his Ghz and they didn’t seem to hold him back. Anyway, what im trying to say is, you don’t have to worry about changing your pads at the moment if they are working fine for what you want to be doing.
sstein
Any pad works fine up to a certain point. The problem comes when you start trying to do bigger stuff and need a very good bite and hold to stop you from slipping out.
