Blake
Right, basically I've decided to spray my onza t pro 2007 frame to a dark blue (similar colour to the gu le frame) and basically I'm not sure how to do it. So i'm going to have to take off everything from the frame, meaning I will need a crank remover and a chain link remover to get rid of the back wheel, but I can leave the bottom bracket in right? So what do I need and how much of each? How many millilitres of nitromors and paint will I need, what else do I need and how should I spray the frame? How many layers of paint do I need and what should I do between layers? Thanks for the help in advance

BradJohnson
take it to a car body work garage they will do all the hard work they will only charge about £30 and they will do a good job of it.
Matthew62
Everyone always says that about powder coating. I've never got a quote (frame only) for less than £65 - often a fair bit more. I have resprayed my bike and was ultra-anal and thorough with it. Nitromous Repeat Wet and Dry Wash raw frame Alcohol Clean Dry for 24 hours 2 coats of primer 6 coats of paint with frame being hung 2 coats of laqeur 24 hours drying After all that it still chips like crazy. You can't beat the quality of a proper powder coated finish but then it's nice to have the ability to change the colour of your bike whenever you wish. Blake
Well my bike has been sprayed before anyway so I don't think it will chip any worse than now. . . . So how long should the process take in total?
Matthew62
Remove as much as you can off the frame (ok to leave headset cups in if you tape them up). If you want to do it properly: 1st day: Nitromors(not much is needed - 1 small pot will be enough), clean thoroughly, allow to dry properly and primer (2 coats required). Leave to dry for 24 hours. 2nd day: Paint applying light even coats. (I'd suggest 6 coats for a good coverage. 2-3 500ml cans). Leave to dry for 24 hours. 3rd day: Laquer (2 coats with plenty of drying time in between). Allow to dry for 24 hours and build bike up again.
