What Tyre Pressure And Tyres Do You Run

I find this a very hard aspect of trials that I find I can never get quite right, its somtimes a case of harder tyres so quicker rolling and rapid bounce or a lower pressure for grip and slower bounce. I ride a stock but am interested to know what tyres and what pressure any riders use on MOD or STOCK

Thanks for any replys

I don't run a specific pressure. just carry a pump, and adjust acording to what i'm riding at the time.

That's the best advice i can give. Because everyone will be different due to weight and technique.

Very true.

It also depends on the riders style as this will determine whether the rider will run a higher pressure than a low pressure, and also whether the rider will run soft compound tyres or hard compound tyres, and then there's nobbly DH tyres, XC tyres or slick/ramp tyres. The person that can help you on this for tyre pressure is yourself and what feels right for you.

I personally run Schwalbe Nobby Nic on the front and a Schwalbe Big Betty on the rear. I run these because the MAD team are sponsored by them. But I do like them a lot. For my style riding they do the job well. I run my tyres at around 25 psi.

Well, I ride a 24" and I feel left out because you're only asking mod and stock riders. :(

I usually put in 20psi, and then go for a little bounce and let air out until it feels right.

My mates often tell me to change my tyre pressure though, lol.

sorry mate I didnt meen to miss out the 24"'s sorry about that but thanks for the advice 20psi is nice

You naughty boy, I get cursed everytime I try and do my tyres at the petrol station!

Haha, that's the best part of riding at 7am on Sunday mornings, only me and the tramps roaming Didcot town

Between 35psi and 60psi. Depends on the ride and how long it's been since pumping.

I ride 24'" and don't like rimming out so run them hard.

Thought you were in to rimming?

I think mine are quite high as they're pretty hard when I try and push down with my hand (stock with der kaiser) but when I'm riding it'll bottom out occasionally on the edges of walls and things like that. Daren't run it any lower as it just feels too soft and bottoms out when I backhop though would probably help me with static stuff.

as already said it varies so much.

I run front on 10psi and 15 on mod but I couldn't say I weigh that much.

I advise you put them to 20 (if your on mod and depending on your weight) then let them down accordingly. (or increase pressure if need be)

I just checked my rear tyre ready for going to manchester tomorrow and according to my digital meter it's 11.5psi. Feels slightly hard for that though so I reckon the gauge may be a bit wrong as I'm pretty sure I'd be able to squash the tyre down to the rim pretty easy if it was! (Der Kaiser)

Theres your answer - I'd say the gauge was correct. They have super thick sidewalls.

I run about 22 on street and 25 on rocks. Try-all front and Highroller 2.35 dual ply rear (stock)
