craigjames
Something a little different. Only thing i don't like is the need for a half link as Koxx designed the frame for 17:14. Some new pics and a few new bits: Excuse the yellow floor, dad decided to paint the garage.... - Frame: Koxx Hydroxx 2 - Fork : Try-All Forxx - Stem: Try-All 3D Silver - Handlebar : TryAll Carbon - Front Brake: Hope Mono Trial 175mm Carbon blade. - Rear Brake: Magura HS33 2004 (Fresh Products blade, Coust pads from Mr Coustellier) - Brake Clamps: TryAll - Pedals: Wellgo MG-1 Ti - Cranks: Try-All ISIS 175mm, TryAll Symetric bash - Front Freewheel: Echo Sl - Rear Sprocket: Zhi 15t - Chain: KMC 610HX - Front Hub : Try-All CNC - Rear Hub: Zhi SL copy, Tryall cams - Rims: Rockman Hole rear, TryAll round hole front - Tyres: TryAll sticky lite Have a TryAll H 28h hub on a TryAll hole rim when I get some replacement spokes Geometry Wheelbase: 1084mm Chainstay Length: 381mm BB Rise: +55mm Should be around the 9.2/9.1KG mark, will be a little lighter with the new front wheel. Rides a lot nice with the Tryall bars and the new rear tyre. With the new tyre and clamps i've just about been able to lose the half link, although it's still bloody close. Considering a KMX K810 chain as it'll stretch a little more that the 610HX and offer a little more clearance? WTF???????? Dude that bike is sweet, I especially like the cranks! I would be chucking a rear disc on that if it was my bike.
Rusevelt
Love the paint scheme on the TryAll forks, bike looks real tidy. Silver or Black Trialtech risers would be my personal choice over white.
i like cunning stunts
I hear you i couldnt ride a frame that needs a half link which is why i got rid of my last one... Looks lovely though.
Paperclip
Why do you need a half link? I'm running a standard chain on mine and I have no problems what so ever?
Luke Rainbird
Why do you need a half link? I'm running a standard chain on mine and I have no problems what so ever? What gear ratio are you running? If the frame is designed around something like 17:14 then chances are 18:16/19:15 or some other seemingly random setups will be fine too

My chain line is perfect, My brake mounts line up perfect, so again explain why you need a halflink? What you NEED is a set of tryall cnc brake mounts, they have more adjustment then standard mounts so you can lift them higher to get the brake to line up........... I have a hydroxx II lt and 18:15 works with TNN-clamps - wouldn´t work with clamps that have a shorter adjustment range; clamps with the plastic washers is another option(not the nicest one though...) edit: beauty btw Edited February 27, 2011 by wimmeretz
craigjames
Why do you need a half link? I'm running a standard chain on mine and I have no problems what so ever? Because without a halflink the tyre was butted up against the brake booster and the pads were only halfway on the rim, so even with the try-all clamps I'd still have the tyre issue. Have you got the Hydroxx 2 with the rear disc mount or the Hydroxx LT without?
Paperclip
Mine is the disc mount one, I run a tryall sticky tyre its a good 5mm off all way around and my tyres relatively new.....
craigjames
Not a scooby then, as this tyre had no hope of going round! Chain? Are you running a Kool rather than a 610HX and it's stretched more?
Paperclip
spanking new KHE, Its hardly streched at all yet, Or at least I have yet too move the wheel back from putting the chain on last week. Id hate too have too put a split link on my bike, especially if I did not have too, I know the split links the cheaper way out, but Id think about new clamps next thing I bought for that bike haha, Your bike Looks hot I'm Liking the forks they just set it off, Ill try get some pic's of mine up asap. happy riding

Might look into it if/when the half link dies or the tyre wears out. Glad you like it, the matching forks are nice. Lovely bike :) Cheers dude. Craig if you ran a maxxis in the rear im 99% sure that you dont need a hlaf link or anything. Fair point, never been a massive fan of maxxis tyres (apart from on a DH bike). Might look into it though.
Paperclip
I honestly cant see why your tyre would not fit, there is honestly a good 9mm between my tyre and the booster and my tyres not that old either, Id recommend the try all clamps too anyone anyway just down too the fact there far easier too set up your brake as you dont have too square your cylinders up. Too prove my point even more so James Hyland runs a continental and has tyre clearance. f**k risking your good looks for £30, half links hurt people! With the half link and the chain tight there is only 5-6mm of clearance between the frame and tyre. So I'd defo need a different tyre for it to clear. Maybe the Kenda tyres are extremely deep, but I swear I bought it because it was lower profile than the RubberQueen I ran before. Meh,we'll see; certainly can't afford new clamps and a tyre atm. Chris
was that a typo with the 175mm rotor? must be a 155mm rotor, as the fork on the hydroxx has this stupid mount...
Luke Rainbird
It's a 175mm rotor
