l33th3tr33
Was just wondering, Is it worth modifying parts, either aesthecically or to make them lighter? It's just that when the weather's crap, I always tend to mess around with something either on the bike or something else in the garage, and the weather is pretty crap right now... I'm thinking of something to do to my hope levers, but not too sure. What has everyone done to their own parts in the past? Did the part last or just break? isitafox
I'm interested in this, after picking up a modded front tryall stiky off Mark W I wondered if the same kind of thing of cutting some knobbles off is worth doing on the rear of my mod? Really need to find things to do at work, especially as I'm on 12hrs sunday and it will DRAG!!
Ashes
Im thinking of making a downtube protector out of perspec's (<<<<spelling???) It's going to be see through and heated up to fit the shape of my limey 20". When it fits the shape of the downtube im going to let it cool then re-heat a certain patch and press a pre designed stamp of my initials into the perspecs. To finish it off i'm going to cover the patch where i printed my initials with masking tape and lightly spray over it just so that i get kind of ermmmm a sprinkling of green around the patch where my initials are Well thats how its going to go in my head. But I'm investing in a sticky next so if you do end up cutting it up I'd love to know the difference. Im thinking of making a downtube protector out of perspec's (<<<<spelling???) That sounds awesome! I'll keep an eye out for some pics if you do it, and if it turns out good enough a little guide too. Seriously, good luck with that! Thanks yer, if the initial printing idea works then im going to try and personalize it further Its going to be stamped with personal things to me almost like a tatoo, but removable and on my bike haha. trialsmax04
I cut a recess out of the headtube on my HiFi, and also cut a recess out of the dropout triangle. Its fun to modify some bits, but be carefull as its easy to get carried away. Here is my headtube and dropouts, with a cool home made tensioner

If your running creepy crawlers on your mod its worth cutting every other outer knob off, i found it makes them grip better
