howvard
Hi all I ride a mad phase 1.3 and due to changing some parts including the rear wheel I am now ruinning dual disc. My new wheel is 46mm wide and very large for this frame. I would like to run a magura but I would have to use aan evo 2 adapter kit and use offset mounts. I think this would all look very messie but I dont know if its worth doing that or upgrading the disc. Any advice would be great thanks. Mark W
Offset mounts are only for 4-bolt mounts, Evo 2 adaptors are only for V-brake mounts. Can't use them both together, unfortunately!

It did actually work pretty well but to be honest unless your dead set on running a magura I'd just go for a decent well set up V on the back. howvard
Thanks for the advice. I cant run a v-brake already tried it. The arms stick out to far and hit the cranks or my leg and it just didnt work.

howvard
Ok I havent thought about that but that seems like a good idea. I will try and look for a different frame cheap with a wide rear end when im validated. Then I can finally run a maggie. I will miss the old frame had for some time now. I like to think its one of the nicest mad phase bikes around. ( there are some pics on my post (The MAD phase) Thanks for the tips mate What bike do you ride. isitafox
Got the bottom slots on the mounts machined out to take the V bolt (not sure what size they are), trimmed a tiny bit of the rear evo mount off so the clamps would sit into it then used the normal V bolts to tighten the bottom half of the clamp and for the top some bolts going through the booster, through the clamps, through the evo mount holes (where the standard mounts have the pins going through to hold them square) and stuck a nut on the back. Bit fiddly to setup but once it was on it worked a treat and I was using old magura koolstop pads at the time so it shows how effective it was. Not got any pics saved at work but there might be some in my pics thread for the Heavy Tools here http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/147215-my-heavy-tools-trials-rebuild/page__st__40__p__2197557__hl__heavy+tools__fromsearch__1#entry2197557 (Can't see myself as photobucket is blocked at work)
Mark W
Ah yeah, thought it'd be along those lines. Just didn't think anyone would have the perseverance to actually go through with it, haha.

Just didn't think anyone would have the perseverance to actually go through with it, haha. At the time it was the only solution for me as I couldn't use my old rear wheel as I'd swapped to FFW and the rim was knackered, got the clamps machined for nowt anyway so wasn't really much hassle on my part other than actually setting it up. Ended up selling the setup to a lad on here who was pretty pleased with it so it came in handy when I upgraded my frame!Found the pic on my phones browser
howvard
I have that hole set up with the booster and adapter. Plus i have an old school set of ofset mounts that will fit in the v-brake slot. I cant really be bothered to set it all up like that though. It looks pretty untidy on a trials bike and sticks out quite alot. Im gunna try and find some bb5 or bb7 calipers and run dual disc still and buy some larger roters. I think tuis is probably best for me, or I will try and get a new frame to setup. Thanks everyone.
