I Think I've Broken My Frame.

I've just got my new headset from tarty.

It's the 1 1/8" size for my Onza T-Pro 06.

However the headset cups simply wobble where they are supposed to seat. They should be pretty tight trying to fit in right? However they simply wobble about and are very loose.

I think I might have done this myself as I used Caustic Soda to strip my frame. I dipped the front end into the pot of soda to strip it, but I think it's removed too much of the bleeding frame.

Have I bought the wrong headset... again? Or is my frame totally funked. If the latter, i'm going to cry.

Can get a vid or pic of the lack of tight fit if it helps.

Cheers, dannnnnn

I'm also fairly sure that you have the wrong headset. Since the dawn of time t-pros have had internal headsets where most if not all of the headset sits inside/in flush with the frame. If you look on tarty there are two sub catergories for the headset section and both differ quite a bit.

Good luck with it Dan (Y)

Onza internal headsets are different to standard if i remember correctly, as you can get a few different sizes. had the same problem when build my jump bike as usually its a 45x45 degree bearing but mine was 45x35 :S

I have an External headset and an Internal headset. The one in the picture is under the internal section on Tarty. I also have a brand new FSA pig headset which is external, which also doesn't fit - as ofc its an internal headtube!

Weird that tarty say the one I bought fits onza's though.

Looks like that's another £10nner i'm spending on headsets. Anyone wana buy an brand new FSA pig? or this one? lol!
