this is more of a problem for my dad but ey ;)

when you go to lock the car via the buttons on the keys , it doesn't lock ! it seems to lock then un-lock itself ?

i've had a search of google but there was no real helpful answer !

any ford focas owners had this problem before?

cheers guys

that's a mk1 then, you may need to reset the central locking module, it's located in the drivers footwell, on the door side, think it's a white box with two connectors, wait for around half an hour and plug it back in. Also, change the batteries in the fob if not already done.

Lube up the door locks by squirting WD40 in the locks too. :) get rid of the dirt that may be causing a faulty connection.

sorry to rock up to the party late, but we ran a fair few focaye(granted i only got to work on the later mark ones), never had to do that with the module, only thing i came across on a couple of them, is where the wiring goes through into the boot lid, (top centre of the boot shut) when i removed the outer sheath, the cables inside had been crushed/worn through the outer sheathing, one of them may be cut clean in 2, or earthing out on the boot lid.
