crashbanggg
I think I've threaded the TPA on my rear brake (It spins rounded without any resistance with the odd click) Although its not causing any major problems it would be nice to be able to adjust it from time to time. So what do I need to make it work again? And will parts be hard to get hold of since it's an '04 brake? (I think) Thanks in advance Chris
Miles Mallinson
I haven't seen any 04 TPAs around but you can buy the lever itself quite cheap Rocknroll
bikeperson45
You can easily bodge it using the same bolt used to fit the clamps (I think it's M5, but not certain) I've forgotten how but it's pretty simple, just to have to remove the red dial and screw the bolt in, I think. Edit - found this Take off the lever blade and the red plastic thing, then remove the bit inside the lever blade thats snapped and stick a M5 bolt through the threaded hole on the adjuster where the red bit was, job done. You can be fancy and grind a slot in it so it's the same as the old one, but it works perfectly fine as just a bolt. crashbanggg
I know this is going to sound incredibly noobie, but how do you remove the lever? Do I just unscrew the big bolt and slide it out? Also, If i remove the lever will it require re-bleeding?
AdamR28
Yes, and not if you're careful and don't let the piston fall out
crashbanggg
Ive taken the lever off and pulled the red cap off. Am I now just putting an M5 bolt into the shown hole? Because I did that, re assembled it and nothing appeared to change, what am I doing wrong?
