gu trials
would tartybikes consider selling 2nd hand stuff aswell as new products, for me i am put of with trusting people to buy of here where as with a trustworthy website such as tartybikes i would buy some 2nd hand products from them. how many others of you are in the same boat as me ? would it be an advantage or disadvantage for them to do this if it went through ? as if they are going to sell more 2nd hand products than new then it could put the business they run now into a bit of debt by them not gaining enough money to pay out manufacturers such as deng, koxx ect. what are your thoughts ?

bikeperson45
I don't think that would work, parts would have to be tested, photographed and described well which would take ages. Then they've got to buy it so that they make a profit and all that...
dannytrialskid
I never buy second hand stuff so it wouldn't really affect me, however I wouldn't say it was a good idea; only because I don't buy second hand stuff. Also the customers would need to know that there would be no warranty on the second hand stuff, so if someone snapped a second hand frame that they bought from them then they may complain to tarty but obviously no warranty for it. j-bonham@hotmail.com
Personally i don't think it'd work out to well for them. Plus there are loads of trustworth people on this forum, just do your research before you buy anything or give any money out. i've never once been conned / done out of money on here. gu trials
ok thanks for your replies, as i said it was just an quick thought. although because the tartybike boys would know a lot more about the parts than just riders, i thought that they would be able to tell by looking at 2nd hand products to say whether they are worth selling or not, like obviously not buying a pair of cracked forks, but scratched products wouldnt really matter. although this could mean them getting conned out of money i guess, so this may not work. Krisboats
To be fair there is a feedback system on here for each member, you can search for any threads regarding their selling habits and if you're still unsure you can make a judgement call based on their posts. We also have the disputes section to raise and resolve any problems. 99% of sales go through without a problem, just be sensible about it.
Matt Vandart
This, is a weird topic. Weird for 2 reasons. 1: I was just looking at the dresslershop site where this does happen literally a few moments ago. 2: Why don't you just ask them? How the f**k are we meant to know?

Lilley
I noticed both Stan Shaw and Mark W have had products for sale in the second hand section recently, maybe that is the next best thing for you.

Luke Dunstan
When a shop buys something second hand they have to warranty it, and make money on it, making the people who sell to the shop get less money than what it's worth. You'll get more for your product selling privately. Why create more hassle than it's worth. P.s ever tried Ebay?

Dušan
i think the only worthy thing would be if those who want to sell something send it to tartybikes. tartybikes put the item on webpage. someone buy it. 10% goes to tartybikes other goes to seller. That would be nice for tartybikes because they wont need to pay anything and if they wont be able to sell something they will just send it back to seller. We have enough difficulty trying to keep up with getting photos of new products from our official suppliers and putting them on the website, let alone the detailed level of photos you'd need to show damage to 2nd hand products, writing specific descriptions, etc. Plus we'd end up with a load of hassle if parts broke soon after people bought them. Buying anything second hand is a risk, so it's not really ideal for us to have to get involved with that officially.
