PebbleWrestler
been riding an adamant a3 long for the past year or so, its the long...i *believe* the geo is listed as +55bb 1030wb, but havent been able to find out for sure...and when i measure (with a pair of trialtech forks on) its closer to 1040wb....which is fine as i really love how my bike feels for sidehops..it just sucks when i start looking for a new frame cause i dont see anything NEAR 1030 or 1040, longest ive seen with a high bb is like 1025... when i get a new frame at some point this year, id like to look into the +80-85bb territory..what are my options, anyone know of any "long" bikes coming out this year? Gaz96
I dont know all frame geometories so cant really give you a frame to look at, but have you thought about a custom frame?
BlueSmokeyJoe
Its not uncommon for the older deng frames to work out longer than they state. My 06 Python measured 1055-60mm with Echo Lites, even though it was advertised as 1045mm lol. The Trialtech forks are slightly taller than most forks, thus pushing your front wheel further forward, do you know that you have the LONG frame for definate? To check, measure the distance from the centre of the bottom bracket shell to the centre of the headtube. According to T-UK, the short frame is 595mm and the long 610mm. Hope this has helped! PebbleWrestler
very helpful man thanks!! cant check at the moment but if my wb is 1040, i most likely have a long, or no? i bought the bike 2nd hand, so all i can go off is what the guy told me and what i measured...hard to find a custom frame option in the states for less than $1200+ USD...outside of marino, do you know of any slightly cheaper custom options that will ship to the states? and im assuming adamant as a company folded? or deng just concentrates on echo and zoo! now?? No worries! I think as the economic climate worsened circa '08> it was deemed to be un cost effective to be running all 5 of the companies (GU, ZOO!, Echo, Czar and Adamant), hence the two brands being carried, Echo and ZOO! as they are more widely known??? Anyway...... To see if you have the long version, you'll need to measure the REACH (centre of bb shell to centre of the top of the headtube) this will determine it as it will be the construction of the frame that differs in frame length, if you get what I mean? About picking a new frame, a bit of advice I can give is to look into the REACH length. Although wheelbase does matter, the reach is often overlooked, but is a vital measurement. I was riding an 06 Python running a 1055-60mm wb and now run an 08 GU Typhoon. The new wheelbase measures 1035-45 (off the top of my head) but, because the reach is 15-20mm longer on the GU, it feels just as long as the Python despite the wheelbase being shorter. Coupled with shorter chainstays, the GU feels a lot more flickable to ride!

Dont forget you can go old school with the old revals you can find them at 1075 and low bb so they are bunny hop maaaad! or look out for olg gu typhoon they are mega long to and high bb. ForrestDump
I was looking at frames myself the other day on Tarty's. I came across the 'RockMan Bjorn' mainly due to the lovely green colour that caught my eye, but more to the point it does have a WB of 1025mm with a BB rise of +80mm, looks like a lush frame. It is a tad expensive but does have a BB rise closer to +85 compared to the Neon.
