rab shropshire
Right i am looking for a set of maggy forks to complement my Fans. I know everyone will say TrialTechs are the way to go but i would like to retain the option to run disc in the future should i feel the need. soo I have narrowed it down to 3 sets 1. Echo Urbans 2. Try-all 2011 ( i know these are maggy only) 3. Neon curved I know all of these forks have different geos so i would like to know how they will affect the handling / geo of the frame, I am currently running Echo control forks does anyone know the geo of them. Thanks in advance for the help Edited February 10, 2011 by rab shropshire
Greetings
Controls will be around 415/45, depending on which exactly you have (there were 2 types). I'd personally go with Echo SL's, sure they crack but they're really compact, stiff on a maggie and very light. Just replace them before they snap and you'll be fine. rab shropshire
I never even considered the sls, I'm quite a heavy guy but I don't do many large moves and don't ride particulary often, how long can expect a set to last
Greetings
I'm not a good benchmark. Been using them since they came out and I go through 1 pair every season. But then my riding isn't big and it's fairly smooth. I do lots of moves to front wheel though.
rab shropshire
Tarty don't stock maggy sls so they are out of the question
LukasMcNeal
I really cant see how people can recommend SLs! I'd go with the Urbans
trialsmax04
Defiantly the urbans Rob. Love mine, would only ever swap for trialtechs but like you, i like the option of having a disk at some point.
rab shropshire
I'm waiting on patt Donovan getting back to me about a set of trialtechs, to anyone that has used both are they really worth the extra 40 quid
trialsmax04
There stiffer than urbans. But urbans are still relatively solid. What are you running now Rob? Edit didnt read your first post properly. The urbans should be stiffer and lighter than the control forks. The trialtech's are slightly heavyer than urbans but stiffer. Ali C
one way of putting it is you WILL crack the forks using a magge, how long depends on what moves you do, how smooth you are and how often you ride. Urbans may last you a year, they may last you a week. However, you could get some Trialtech forks and relish in the good design and thought that has gone into them and watch as they don't crack (well, nowhere near as soon anyway)
