t-comp-kierz
Well the problem is my iPhone 3GS battery life is pathetic it will last a day if your lucky and that's not using any apps, when you go onto apps it lasts about 2 hours So does anyone know any ways of increasing the battery life? I have done the obvious ones like turnin the brightness down, turning wifi off and 3G off when not using it. Is there any other good ways? And is it possible to replace the battery? Luke Dunstan
With respect, Have you held the center button and closed all the apps? Some people I know didn't know it existed.
Guest
You can do a few things to try and limit it eatiing power, Brightness, lower it the lowest you can get by and disable the auto control. On a night out i found this was a good idea. Hard reboot. This is sometimes a must if laggy or slow. Hold the home button and lock till the slide apears for power off, keep holding and the phone will shut down. Leave for ten mins then reboot. Disable spotlight search, i found this prevent the phone always searching, it made mine faster. Fresh install as a new phone. Orange offer a contact backup over 3G. I was finding with a restore i was getting the same problems so i tried from fresh as a new phone. Okay so i lost all my messages, apps. Apps you can redownload and messages you'll fill back up. Photos i copied off and started fresh. I used this orange backup for my contacts and all is okay. I just recomend to make a backup before hand just incase. Once the data is copied off via what ever means and safe within the phones settings do the full erase and wipe my iphone. Mobile data off and data roaming. Just use 3G and wifi. Bluetooth off, amazed how many people leave it on. Location services off, i get anyoed with it trying to tell the world where i am Notifications, again i want to find out for my self not every second. More so for the alikes of facebook or ebay. E-mail - i want to fetch it manualy so play with it all, there is about 7 different things to change there. Thats my advice and what i've tweaked on my 3Gs and now 4G. It works for me, made it so much faster. Rumor has it 4.3 allows you to turn off multitasking which i cant wait for which will help speed it up and save power I've also got one of them credit card booster batteres. Handy if you get caught short Edited February 10, 2011 by The Real Pete Wright
Token
It is possible to replace the battery, all though not entirely easy if you don't know what you're doing. I think you can get 1600mah batteries which would be an improvement over the 1200mah battery that's in it at the moment. Maybe watch a youtube tutorial before attempting it yourself. Hendrix
needs a new battery dude, my gf has the same problem ..she says it needs a new battery each year You don't need a new one each year, you just have to respect that it needs decent charging cycles. Like a laptop battery really.. I let mine run till it almost turns off once a week, then I let it do a full recharge overnight. That way it gets use to using [_______] that much of its battery and not [____|__] that much.
