i like cunning stunts
Sorry for all the threads lately it just seems i run into problem after problem. Just built my rockman isis up and cant get the right tension with a z610. The chain tension i just managed to get but the wheel is far back in the dropouts meaning my echo slaves are like this at the rim / \. With the wheel all the way forward in the dropouts the chain won't join so i have no option but to basically have the wheel were its sat now. Is there anyway i can get away without running a half link on it?? I am using a king with fun bolts on the rear, 18 -15 for anyone who asks.. LukasMcNeal
Is it a new chain?

dann2707
I had the exact problem and it's so bloody annoying, I feel your pain! Could you not make a spoke tensioner or something? I ended up buying a half link when this happened to mine and it's been running solid ever since.
rab shropshire
i know cocky runs his isis with 18- 15 without a half link no problem maybe just let the chain stretch with some light riding and try removing a link ones its stretched

Any other bright ideas? I do NOT want to run another half link ever again.
rab shropshire
could you not just run the chain slightly slack with the brake setup good and hope that it stretches, the chain will stretch more with it slightly slack as there is more of a jerking force on it
i like cunning stunts
suppose but would have to be quite slack but like you say its my only option really.
trialsmax04
Whack a 16t on the rear? At lest until the chain streched, but pretty sure the z610s are prone not to streching?

Think it would be far too easy then, its looking more likely that the dreaded death link might be needed and il have no confidence in it whatsoever.. CC12345678910
then surely slightly crappy gearing is better than death or basically not riding cos ur confidence is in the toliet. Or is it just me?
Matt Vandart
Is it because of your tire? This is becomeing increasingly a problem with trials frames it seems.
trialsmax04
Have you ever used a 16t rear sprocket? I thought the same, yet got one and loved it.
i like cunning stunts
Yes used one in the past its just far too easy in my opinion, it probably is a better idea than running a half link but you shouldnt have to run one.! No matt its not the the rain king it could be the 8mm fun bolts though as they are quite large could be stopping the wheel move forward slightly hmm, any other suggestions? rab shropshire
remove the fun bolts and let the axle go right into the drop outs, and try removing a link then you will know either way if it is the bolt heads or something else. I cant think of anything else it could be
