trials owns
why the lightest headset? you will only save a few grams, surly you would want something with good performance etc. anyway look here, all headsets with the weights, http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/standard_headsets/c19.html
monty221ti
yeah i know, i have also been looking on a chris king or a echo sl? i have heard that the chris king should last for ages?
rab shropshire
I prefer the sl over my king, i know all headsets basically do the same job but the king has quite a hight stack height which leaves less range of adjustment for stem height. and you could buy 3 sl's for the price of a king
LukasMcNeal
The echo SL is alot lighter than the King, but the King will last longer. But if taken good care of the SL should last ages too
Mark W
The Echo's got split races for easier fitting, and are easier to maintain/get decent tension with than a King. They're also loads cheaper, and pretty light. All good, really...
Pepo09
Viz sealed headset seems to be the lightest on tarty 72g plus bolt and cap
monty221ti
i found a headset named "tune" and i think it gonna be that one, its pretty light, lighter than the echo and heard from someone i know there has one that it's a good headset:)
AdamR28
Tune make some sweet stuff I think my headset (Echo SL) is around 60g with modifications and two new (one aluminium, one carbon) split wedges, so if you know anyone with a lathe you could make the Tune one even lighter... What 'mods' have you done? Oh, and start selling them carbon wedges!!
Mark W
This is what's left of Adam's headset (although you can't see the custom races all that well obviously): Light grey/silver = cup, dark grey = bearing.

So he's just lathed the top of the cup off? Looks like he might have stepped it as well actually.....How did he make those carbon wedges? Turned on the lathe? 24martin
get the sl for sure, but the only way your going to notice a major difference in weight is if you are currently running a standard un-sealed heavy steel headset, and replaced that with the echo sl.. it sure is super light at a guess using my hand as a precision scale i would say the sl is about 4 times lighter than a standard headset. and as mark said with the split races it makes it really easy to fit/remove.
