stephenmx50
Hi all, I have just purchased a new Front Freewheel (Echo SL) now im sure i have read on here some where that people remove the grease from them and re lube with light oil or just spray regular with WD40/GT85, is it advisable to do this with a brand new freewheel? or shall i just save the hassle and bolt it straight on? Any help would be great... Edited February 1, 2011 by stephenmx50
Mark W
There's no grease in an SL to remove
stephenmx50
Oh... Sorry i didnt realise that. So is it advisable to oil it before fitting? I would imagine they are oiled from new..?
Mark W
From my experience it's best to leave them when they're new, but if you ride in the wet/clean your bike thoroughly it's advisable to use a little thin chain oil inside it to lube things up a bit.
