Plastic Pedals Any Good?

Im about to buy new pedals for my current build in the process, its going to be a street 24inch. Does anyone run plastic pedals for this and do you get enough grip? I was going to run a decent set of BMX pedals because plastic pedals dont hurt as much as big metal platforms or cages and they seem to keep their colour unlike metal ones and with street riding you dont need as much grip as natty do you? Or should I just man up and go for metal platforms? I've got a pair in my house but I want a black pair that stay black! Any advice and recommendations would be good thanks.

iv used them and they have been grippy but they wear out fast ... and they still hurt when they dig into your shins ....get some metal platforms :)

I've used plastics on BMX and MTB street, never for trials. They are grippy enough in the dry (not good in the wet) although not as grippy as a decent set of metals. Also they are easy to snap and the bearings don't last long.

As long as you don't ride in wet weather or use your pedals for grip/balance on objects you should be fine but I would recommend a good set of metals instead.
