thornabytrials.co.uk
just recieved a bike in the post, built it up today, the back brake (hs33) when you pull it, it seems to take a while for the lever to spring back out... should there be some sorta spring or something? or is something broken? AJ9604
Bit of a simple thing but is the lever pivot bolt not too tight?
davey1991
Bit of a simple thing but is the lever pivot bolt not too tight? I had this for a while and i thought it was everything but that. Loosen it off and if that doesn't cure it fill the piston with penetrating oil. Alex Dark
It'll be one of four things: Spring not working - Could be too squashed, binding against the cylinder wall or simply not there.A crappy bleed - Especially relevant if the brake has been bled with Blood, and if its older. Swollen Piston - This happens all the time and is happily really easy to fix ( test if this is the problem by removing the piston and O-ring and seeing if it sticks when you insert it [ DONT GET IT STUCK! ] .; the piston has to be removed , then take off the oring. Grab some 320 grit wet and dry and gently spin the piston whilst sanding it to take it down slightly. Once if fits in fairly smoothly finish up with a 600 grit.Dirty or damaged piston - Often the piston and cylinder get gummed up with rubbish, some fairy liquid and a rag are all that's needed to get it sparkling. Try the above, and if you still have problems comment back in here and I'll see if i can work out what the problem is. Alex
