Norrie
Hi Guys I was hoping some of you could offer advice I am really unsure what to look for in a bike...... I did a lot of bmx in my younger days but stoped a few years ago I am now 28 and feel its time to start doing something new but I have no Idea what type of bike will fit my needs. My aim is to be able to get a bike I can use for street tricks, trials and some off road tracks, down hill and jumps. then I can decided what I like the best come summer and got a bike specific for the style I like. I have no Idea what to look for in a bike. could any one help with this please ? I am hopeing to spend as little as possible at the moment just to get me started out then come summer time invest around 1000 if I am finding I have the time to get out and ride. Thanks to anyone for any help ! Norrie
Gaz96
My aim is to be able to get a bike I can use for street tricks, trials and some off road tracks, down hill and jumps. then I can decided what I like the best come summer and got a bike specific for the style I like. Doubt that will happen mate, trials bikes have rigid forks and very distinctive geometories, doing offroad tracks and downhill would never happen on the same bike as your doing trials on, well you could but it would be extremely hard to do trials on a bike suited to offroad tracks and downhill or extremely hard to do that on a bike suited to trials! But for doing street tricks and trials a 24inch street trials bike would be your best bet! could possibly do dirtjumps on that but not to sure, I know Danny Mac rode dirt jumps near where I live on his 24inch street trials bike Edited January 30, 2011 by Gaz96
bella
you cant really get a bike to suit all. if you did BMX and like dirt jumps probably go for a inspired 24" i used to ride bmx years ago and get on better with a 20" rather than a 26" really mate you have to try it .If you know any riders around you have a good half hour on a few bikes and see what you like. you may find out what you need to know.
