p_ruskin
Purchased an 05 Mag from a forum member, gave it a quick re-bleed with the TPA unscrewed all the way. Everything worked fine until I started riding, the piston inside the lever moves in slightly every time I ride, so the lever doesn't touch the piston for a 2-3mm in and then it connects normally again. But it is defiantly not leaking. So i tighten the TPA and it just does it again, until the TPA is all the way in, almost like the water was condensing inside. Also I'm using full braided hosing if it makes a difference? Can anybody help? Maybe using antifreeze instead of water would help? Dan6061
So the lever body piston is slow? Take the lever blade off, remove the piston, give the lever body a clean up inside, clean the piston (remove the O-ring and clean that too) pop it back together with a touch of grease, bleed it, and it should be ok again! rab shropshire
Hi mate apologies about the brake, it was working tip top for me. however i do know what has happened, in fact it has happened to 3 of my previous maggies, completely at random. As said above pop the piston out and give it a good clean and lube, pop it back in and it should be fine again. If that doesn't sort it, pop the piston out again and sand a tiny bit of the piston and keep refitting until its sorted. If that doesnt work, you can send it back to me and il sort it out for you. Sorry again. EDIT - beaten too it with the solution Edited January 27, 2011 by rab shropshire
p_ruskin
Cheers mate, its no problem, just a bit of a pain having to re-bleed every few rides, I had greased the piston up and it seemed to work but not very well, Will give it another go, Cheers.
