trialsmax04
Rich.I think I love you! Applying to be a student ambassador was certainly one of the things I was hoping to do. Its something I wouldnt mind being on my CV. I suppose its not the debt that is worrying me, but more the case of being unable to claim the money to pay for fees in the first place. Thanks alot guys. Luke Rainbird
In essence: - You get your "tuition fee loan" which will cover your fees. You won't see a penny of it as it gets paid straight to your uni when you turn up at the start of term - You get a "maintenance loan" of a similar amount (currently around £3500) to help cover the costs of living; ie. rent, food etc - You will have access to around £1500 worth of interest free overdraft to put with your maintenance loan This is enough to get by, especially since your accommodation rent costs are likely to be taken termly rather than in once chunk at the start (though this will vary place to place so check). You have a good few weeks holiday in between terms with which to pay off your overdraft a little and to get some extra pennies, plus any work you do (as an ambassador or outside of uni) to get you by. It's very doable, just look at the millions of student in similar situations at the mo. For the record, it could be worse; I've had to pay my fees off my own back for a couple of years too
