AdamR28
Hello all, Been wanting to ride a bit of 26" again, and after building one of these frames up for a customer I couldn't resist any longer! This is pretty much the perfect frame for me - weight, geo, colour, disc only... and they are no longer being produced, so I couldn't miss out. Built it up with some existing parts and some new ones, with durability and rideability in mind rather than going as light as I could. Geo is: 1090, +45, 380, 72, full bike weight 9.08kg. Spec for those interested: Frame and Forks - Frame: Koxx Red Sky - Forks: Trialtech Disc Wheels - Front hub: Try-All H100 Disc - Rear hub: Try-All H135 Disc - Chain tensioner: Echo Ti Snail Cams - Front rim: Try-All hOle - Rear rim: V!Z Single Wall - Spokes: Sapim Race - Nipples: V!Z Alloy - Rim tape: Custom - Front tyre: Continental Trial King - Rear tyre: Continental Trial Queen Brakes - Front brake: Hope Tech Trial 200mm - Rear brake: Hope Tech Trial 190mm with Try-All rotor Drivetrain - Cranks: Echo SL - Freewheel: Rockman 144.12 - Chain: Trialtech K610 HX - Rear Sprocket: Echo TR Screw On (might change this for a prototype aluminium one I have kicking around) - Pedals: Echo SL Ti Platform 2011 - Bottom bracket: Titanium ISIS - Bashring: Trialtech Titanium Half Steering - Headset: Custom - Stem: Trialtech Forged 110 x 25 - Grips: Trialtech Foam - Handlebars: Try-All Carbon Riser v2 And photos... (If you're on a 1280 wide monitor click them to show at 100% size or else they'll look all fuzzy) Edit: Rear hub broke (was about 2 years old): Edit 2: New rear hub complete: Cheers! N.Wood
You pimp motherf**ker! Running a half link for that tyre or does she fit?
Greetings
Love that. Wouldn't personally go with double disc due to pad and spoke wobble but it's a pleasure to look at such a build. Are the Trial tyres officially in production now?
Laurence--Trials
Wow, first time i've seen one of these. Looks pretty hot, need to tell us how that Rockman freewheel is. EDIT: headset: custom? Edited January 25, 2011 by Laurence--Trials
AdamR28
You pimp motherf**ker! Running a half link for that tyre or does she fit? Fits Having no 4-bolt mounts (and thus brake booster) for the win Love that. Wouldn't personally go with double disc due to pad and spoke wobble but it's a pleasure to look at such a build. Are the Trial tyres officially in production now? Cheers man. Yeah, dual disc isn't for everyone, but there is no pad wobble when set up correctly. Nah, we're still struggling to get the tyres, these I have had kicking around for a bit.

And how do they compare to the rubber queen stabilty wise? They feel pretty much the same as the Rubber Queen, maybe a teeny bit more stable. AdamR28
Cheers for the comments guys! I'll try and get some video footage sorted sometime soon... Regarding cost, I'm really not sure - the custom stuff would cost a lot, plus there's a fair bit of labour gone into tweaking certain bolts, the brake routing, etc - but I would guess at nearing £2.5k
bonzojim
Love it, looks great and i imagine it rides really well to. Its all about dual disk james..
Jo Prattley
apologies if i am wrong here.... but the rear rim seems to be like the wrong way round judging by the rotation arrow ... jus sayin other than that it looks damn sexy good job
Mark W
There's an arrow pointing in both directions. I guess Viz were just thinking that in that most people were going to be grinding that rim they could cover the entire sidewall in graphics and it wouldn't matter
Tom Rigg
Very nice Adam. A ride with both our beasties is definitely needed!
Rusevelt
I wish the paint job scheme and graphics was more like the Orange Sky because that red is lush apart from that, the build is solid and there is little else to fault it.
